Fixed table saws range from small 8" hobby machines through heavy 14" industrial units. They range from 3HP up to 10HP, and even more in special cases. Some smaller units are on single phase electrics for home shops however most are on 3 phase electrics for industrial use. These saws are generally used for cutting solid wood or smaller panel components. Some have a scoring saw for panel work, however most do not. Sliding table saws are saws for either smaller production industrial shops or for special custom cutting in a larger shop that will generally also have a beam panel saw for the majority of their panel cutting. They tend to be very flexible with tilting arbour as well as a mitre fence for angle and mitre cutting. These machines almost always have a scoring saw for clean panel cutting.
